Fish, holds pride and a very important place in our Kerala cuisine. Meen Varuthathu (fried fish) with a crispy outside and juicy inside will definitely leave you wanting more!!!Ingredients: ½ kg. Fish 1
½ dsp. Chilli Powder
½ tsp. Pepper Powder
1/8 tsp Mustard
18 button Onions
6 Garlic flakes
1 small size Ginger Piece
To Taste – Salt
Oil for frying
1. Clean the fish and gash slowly
2. Grind chilli, Garlic, Ginger, Onion, Pepper and Mustard. Mix salt to it.
3. Rub the ground masala well into the fish and keep for a while.
4. Pour small quantities of oil at a time in a heavy skillet and fry the fish on both sides over slow fire.
Note:
If too much oil is used or the oil is not hot enough, the masala on the fish gets separated in the oil.
